Carols from King’s
by awindram
Watching an old broadcast of Carols from King’s on YouTube and trying to maintain one of my Christmas Eve rituals.
Shame BBC America feels the need to show ten hours (not exaggerating for comic effect) of James May’s Toy Stories rather than fitting this into the schedule.

Certainly one of the finest choirs anywhere! Here in the states, the best Christmas choral programs are on PBS, and the best of those is from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, one of our premier music schools. This year’s is called “Luther: Tidings” and you can probably catch a re-broadcast.
My in-laws have the Mormon choir (actually, they have Mormon TV on nearly all the time. Odd as they’re for New York Catholics) on throughout the holiday. Hope you had a great Christmas!
I TiVo many of their “Music and the Spoken Word” holiday shows too. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square is probably the best of the mega-choirs, and their head composer/conductor/arranger Mack Wilberg is highly skilled.
Yes, we had a lovely holiday, thanks. Happy New Year to you and yours!
