34 long, dark nights for America: Always about me
Thirty-four long, dark nights to go.
Trump’s Daily Twitter Highlight: “New Virginia poll- thank you! We are going to show the whole world that America is back – BIGGER, and BETTER, and STRONGER than ever before!”
Clinton’s Daily Twitter Highlight: “Unfortunately for Mike Pence and Donald Trump, Google exists (and we aren’t stupid).”
Daily election of interest: Trump’s Doing Worse Than Romney Did Among White Voters
One of the more mischievous points raised by the punditocracy last night was that Trump wouldn’t be happy with his VP’s debate performance, that the Donald’s ego would be bruised that his number two was better at this debating lark than him. And not only better than him, but better by being Trump’s polar opposite by seeming prepared and not interrupting.
As an aside, there seems to be a certain irony in Kaine being so eager to get all his attacks in on Trump that his over excited, slightly feverish interruptions of the moderator ended up giving his performance a somewhat Trumpian aspect.
Despite the fears, Trump seems to be taken the good notices for Pence rather well, because really it’s not so much a reflection on Pence as a reflection on how awesome and infalliable Trump is.
Trump at a rally in Nevada had this to say, “Mike Pence did an incredible job and I’m getting a lot of credit because this was my so-called first choice, that was my first hire as we would say.”
Trump is getting yuge credit for this. He is always getting yuge credit. Everything is about him, all the mass hysteria. He is all he can think about. He is all we can think about. And if his own solipsism can be forgiven, our own donaldsism is less forgivable.
