29 long, dark nights for America: One way to get a good night’s sleep
Twenty-nine long, dark nights to go.
Trump’s Daily Twitter Highlight: “Paul Ryan should spend more time on balancing the budget, jobs and illegal immigration and not waste his time on fighting Republican nominee“
Clinton’s Daily Twitter Highlight: “Last night, Donald Trump spent his time attacking when he should have been apologizing.‘”

Pity poor Paul Ryan – the Speaker who would rather not speak. We can pretty well assume that his sleep patterns have been erratic for the last few months. Trump’s campaign leading almost inevitably into a Clinton presidency must have had Ryan popping ambien like Trump pops tic-tacs.
It would be wrong to say he grew some balls today, he’s not unendorsing Trump, but he is taking an admirably pragmatic decision in saying he will be spending all his energy in the remaining days of the campaign to helping GOP members of Congress get reelected rather than responding to the next (inevitable) tabloid crisis involving Trump.
Though his relationship with a large percentage of the GOP base may be irreparably damaged, there is now probably fewer night sweats, shrieking nightmares and not such a need for ambien popping.
